The Melting Pot menu is loaded with gluten free options! Aimee and I recently went there for Valentine’s Day. It was Aimee’s first time and I had not been in over 10 years. Why did I wait so long!?!
The Melting Pot is one of those places that seems like a no brainer when you think about it. They are even one of the very few places that serve as a validated Gluten Free Safe Spot.
Allow me to explain the wonders of the Melting Pot Gluten Free menu!

Validated Gluten Free Safe Spot
This is HUGE! The same great folks at the Gluten Intolerance Group that verify our foods independently have started to validate actual restaurants through their validated Gluten Free Safe Spot program.

Here is what they say about Gluten Free Safe Spots:
“The Validated Gluten Free Safe Spot logo stands for the independent verification of quality, integrity, and purity of restaurants and businesses serving gluten-free food. Our validation is designed to establish trust with gluten-free patrons in the ability of a restaurant or facility to provide safe gluten-free food.”
They go on to say “When you see the Validated Gluten-Free Safe Spot mark at food service establishments, trust that the Gluten-Free Food Service (GFFS) program has worked to validate this spot as a safe spot for gluten-free consumers.”
There are not a lot of restaurants participating in this from what I can see so far, but Melting Pot is going to extra mile and for that we are thankful! The California Pizza Kitchen is another major restaurant that I see is a Gluten Free Safe Spot. I know where we are headed next for date night!
Melting Pot Menu Gluten Free Options
On their website, The Melting Pot does not list out their menu which I do find surprising. Maybe I’m missing it, but from a user experience perspective, it’s not easy to find if it’s there.
With that said, do not let the lack of a menu online discourage you. Their gluten free page does state that GF labels are on their menu. I can confirm that. Their staff was attentive and quickly answered all our questions.
They have gluten free substitutes for all their dishes. I’m talking gluten free bread, cookies, and brownies! We were not disappointed.

Why The Melting Pot Menu Makes Sense Being Gluten Free
The Melting Pot is the perfect setup for people on a gluten free diet. If you are not familiar with how they operate, you are the chef!
You cook or dip everything at your table. This eliminates a level of cross contamination concern that you have in a typical restaurant kitchen. They just need to get your food from the kitchen to your table. They are so confident that your food won’t be cross contaminated that they went the extra mile to get validated! I can get down with that!

How The Melting Pot Works
If you have not been there before, this is a unique experience and wonderful date night spot.
They bring your food out in waves. Here is how our Valentine’s Day dinner went
- Appetizer: Shrimp Cocktail
- Cheese Fondue. It was crab dip and served with apples, veggies, and gluten free bread
- Salad
- Main Course: Beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, and vegetables cooked in a red wine broth. Served with yummy dipping sauces! So good!
- Desert: Chocolate fondue with gluten free cookies, brownies, fruits, and marshmallows.
We did not leave hungry! The food was delicious. The pace at which you eat is just right. It’s a lot of food so show up hungry!

Call ahead and Talk
Key thing to remember is to communicate! Call ahead and let them know your gluten free requirements. When I called, they knew exactly what we needed and there was no hesitation.
When we arrived, our waiter was also very informed. He did not hesitate either and it really gave us the confidence and reassurance that our meal would be worry free.
If there is anywhere that you could possibly relax while dining, this is about as good as it gets.
The Melting Pot Verdict
We absolutely loved our experience here. We will be returning. You really can’t beat the peace of mind that comes with the dining experience. The food was perfect, it was a win win!
Only down side is cost. It can get little expensive, but for a date night or special occasion this is perfect! Here are a couple other gluten free dining options as well that I’ve taken a deeper look at!
Let me know how your experience goes! I’d love to hear how the Gluten Free Safe Spots are working out. This is such a great inniative for the gluten free community!
