Denny’s is a classic American diner that has a special place in my heart. That’s why I needed scope out the Denny’s Gluten Free menu!

Denny’s Gluten Free menu online
The physical menu at the restaurant is much better than the one found online. When you go to Denny’s Menu online it specifically calls out GF options, but the actual menu items do not have any GF labels.
Every item simply has the following statement: “GF indicates food options that are GLUTEN FREE. Menu items marked as GF meet the FDA specified definition of less than 20 parts per million for a gluten free claim. Please note that our restaurants are not set up as a strictly gluten free environment. Due to shared preparation and cooking areas in our kitchens and the risk of cross-contact, we cannot guarantee that any item is free of any allergen. We do not maintain halal or kosher kitchens.“
There is a PDF from 2021 online that I found. It is their Allergen Guide, which is a little better but you need to be somewhat of a detective and cross examine each document. Who really has time for that?
Long story longer… I’m not a fan of their gluten free user experience online. In the restaurant experience is much better.

What is actually gluten free at Denny’s?
If you venture into the restaurant, here is generally what you can expect to be gluten free on the Denny’s menu:
- Build your own Slams
- Omelettes
- Skillets
- Salads
- Nachos
- Steaks
- Drinks
- Condiments
It may seem like a short list, but it’s really not. Many of their dishes can be modified with just a few items to be gluten free. Just talk with your server.
I’ve heard rumors of an awesome GF English muffin on the Denny’s menu, has anyone had that yet?Let me know in the comments below!

Gluten Cross contamination?
Denny’s is not a dedicated gluten free facility, as with every restaurant, do what is best for you. I would suspect there is a degree of cross contamination for anyone sensitive enough.
Speak with your server and just talk them through it to see if you are comfortable.
Looking for More Gluten Free Restaurant Options?
I’ve been diligently working to take deep dives into some of my favorite restaurants. If you are not in the mood for Denny’s, maybe some of these will fancy you!
Hey! You made it all the way down here?!?! Thanks stopping by!
The Denny’s in my area used to have the Glutino English muffins…..Moons over My Hammy tasted great on them and were the thing I ordered every time. Last time I went in, the waitress said they stopped sending them! I wrote to Denny’s, but no response has been received to date. I may just try it without any bread. There is a Moons Over My Hammy omelette….but it’s basically just a ham and cheese omelette and I didn’t enjoy it. I hope they get something else but we shall see.
They do have a note on there menu that mentions the fact that the food is prepared in an area with gluten containing ingredients.
Donna,
Thanks for the notes and insight!

Yes, the GF English muffins are delicious!
I loved the gluten free English Muffins! Unfortunately I just learned, while ordering in the local Denny’s that they no longer have them. I am extremely disappointed and will be searching for other places to go.
Hi! I’ve had the gf English muffin, it’s great! It is exactly the same as the glutino brand muffin (it probably is that one). They toast it for you and give you jam and butter for it, it’s a good experience.
Thanks for sharing!

I am on the GF journey now. Not by choice tho. I had to cut out gluten but I am also lactose intolerant. I am going to try Denny’s in the am. My awesome hubby has given up gluten for me as well. Fingers crossed we have a good breakfast. Going out to eat is difficult but with a few changes at home no one really notices a difference.
Hope it went well!!
