The Applebee’s gluten free menu options have become quite extensive and are worth taking a look!
My family has not been to Applebee’s in many years. I want to say in over 10 years, but we were traveling in western New York and there was one that popped up. We scanned the menu and were quite pleasantly surprised!
Applebee’s Gluten Free Menu Terminology
It is worth noting that their menu in the restaurant does not state “gluten free” but focuses on the term “gluten sensitive.” You will see a small GS next to menu items.
For the purpose of this article I’ll keep using the term gluten free to keep things consistent, but in the end, talk to your server and make the best call for you and your family!

Know Before You Go! Online Menu
I will say, the Applebee’s online menu is pretty user friendly and fairly easy to navigate for those regular customers, but you can easily breakdown their menu by allergy when you go to the bottom and click “NUTRITION & ALLERGENS“.
Once you get there, you will need to drill down some more, but you can eventually search just gluten free items.
To make it a little easier for you, here are some screenshots of what is currently listed on their website as not containing gluten on the menu:

I’ve had the Tex-Mex Shrimp Bowl twice and it was awesome! The beef nachos are also a family favorite!

About Applebee’s
According to their site, Applebee’s has been around since 1980. They got their start in Atlanta, Georgia.
Their goal is to give their customers a family friendly neighborhood feel for a reasonable and affordable price. As their slogan says “Eatin’ good in the neighborhood.”
I can say Applebee’s is back on our family’s gluten free radar. The kids really enjoyed their meals and they had plenty of choices for even picky eaters.
Whatever Applebee’s did to improve their marketing, which probably involved the plug in the song “Fancy Like” by Walker Hayes, worked well. Their branding looks solid and the Applebee’s gluten free menu looks nice.

Gluten Free Dad’s Opinion
If you have not gathered it by now, Applebee’s gluten free menu is worth a good look. Keep an eye on their menu labels and talk to your server. If you have been around the world of dining out gluten free, you know that’s always a priority! The key to success is conversation and lots of questions.
