If you are looking for a gluten free menu at Texas Roadhouse, you may find yourself looking a for a while.
Out of all the gluten free menus I’ve reviewed so far, the Texas Roadhouse gluten free menu appears to be the least inclusive I’ve found so far… it simply doesn’t exist.

Texas Roadhouse Gluten Free Menu Options
I’ve been scouring the internet looking for the gluten free menu at Texas Roadhouse and I’ve found some interesting information.
They used to have a “gluten friendly” menu. Pictured below is an image from Find Me Gluten Free . This is the closest thing I could find that resembles a gluten free menu and apparently they took it away.

What is Gluten Free at Texas Roadhouse then?
From the looks of it, not a whole lot. To say their options are disappointing would be an understatement.
- Plain Steak with only salt and pepper
- Salad
- Burger no bun
- Plain sides

What’s the Deal with Texas Roadhouse?
I’m not sure why Texas Roadhouse is not making any type of effort in the gluten free world of food, but I sure wish they would try… just a little.
Their website does not mention any allergy information at all. So if you have any type of allergy, not just gluten, good luck. Their website has the least amount of information I’ve seen for a restaurant in some time.
I’m sure it is hard to accommodate in a kitchen where they say it is mostly made from scratch, but boy is it disappointing that even today there appears to be no effort. We have gluten free Oreos for crying out loud! Can’t we get some allergy info on your website at least?!
I don’t feel like we are asking for too much.

Gluten Free Dad’s Recommendation
If you have not picked up on it yet… Texas Roadhouse is going to be a hard NO for me.
I can’t even suggest that folks without celiac disease should explore their options.
- No gluten free menu exists
- Any options would be bland
- Website provides zero allergy info
I can not think of another way they could snub the gluten free community as a whole anymore. Maybe one day they will come around, but for the millions of people in the US who avoid gluten… we should probably avoid Texas Roadhouse too.

Better Gluten Free Options
So Texas Roadhouse is OUT…but these other restaurants could be IN. Take a look at some other restaurant options I’ve been diving into:

Gluten Free Menu Hack?
Down in the comments, Crissy mentions they have decent green beans and some steak additions you can add to give it some more pep! Those are great ideas!
If anyone else has gluten free menu hacks, tips or tricks, drop them in the comments below please! I’d love to hear how you got creative with the menu!
I couldn’t agree with you more! This is my son’s favorite restaurant and I thought surely I’d get some decent food there (I have celiac). Plain steak and salad with oil & vinegar-not even decent salad dressing choices! Hard no for me too!
Sorry to hear! When you eat out, where is your go to spot? We need to get your son on board, there are so many other amazing restaurants out there!
I humbly disagree! Their green beans are not plain at all! I also get a loaded baked potato. You can smother your steak with the mushrooms, but we like to add the grilled shrimp skewer. I will say I’m surprised the Caesar salad is not GF if you remove the croutons.
Thanks for your sharing your research though!
Thank you so much for the insight! This might be a good “gluten free menu hack” I really didn’t even think about adding grilled shrimp or mushrooms. Thanks!
