I’ve always travelled a lot. Whether I’m on the road or in the air, one of my favorite stops was Chick-fil-a. I needed to know all about the Chick-fil-a gluten free menu! Their simple chicken sandwiches always hit the spot. That warm bun and fried chicken breast with my favorite sauce…so good!

When I went gluten free, I thought my chicken sandwich days were over… WRONG! I shortly found out that they have their own gluten free bun along with many other gluten free options. The gluten free bun costs just a little extra. All you have to do is ask for a gluten free bun. You will have to build your own sandwich since the bun comes in a sealed bag, but they package everything up nicely for you and it’s easy to get your sandwich built. Crisis averted!

The bun is little dry, I have to be honest, but I simply add a little more sauce and problem solved! I truly appreciate Chick-fil-a’s efforts. It scratches the itch when I’m hankering for a grilled chicken sandwich for sure!
What’s This Gluten Free Bun Made of?
The bun comes in an unmarked clear bag. So no nutrition facts or ingredients list. I’ve been looking around the “inter webs” and the Chick-fil-a website and can only find that it’s made of quinoa and amaranth and sweetened with molasses and raisins according to a CNBC article I found.

Other Gluten Free Menu Options at Chick-fil-a
Chick-fil-a has a ton of gluten free options besides just the bun. Their salads with grilled chicken are always delicious. They also have a ton of sauces that are gluten free. Their online allergen menu clearly lists everything that does or does not contain wheat. You can check it out here!

Are Chick-fil-a Fries Gluten Free?
There is something about those chick-fil-a waffle fries. When you dip them in ketchup they always seem to hold just the right amount on them. The larger ones you can fold like a taco to dip in the ketchup. Hungry yet?
We know they are delicious. The real question is, are Chick-fil-a fries gluten free?

At their core, yes the waffle fries at Chick-fil-a are gluten free. There are no gluten ingredients in their fries, unlike the fries at McDonalds.
The next question for folks with Celiac disease is the fryer due to cross contamination potential. Is it a shared fryer?
According to this Healthline article, they use a separate fryer which is great. It seems to be a general consensus that Chick-fil-a has a dedicated fryer for their fries.
I still recommend asking though. Just to be sure!
Final Reason I Love Chick-fil-a: Best Customer Service!
Chick-fil-a has the best customer service in the fast food world. No contest! At face value, I always enjoy walking into a chick-fil-a. Everyone is so nice and polite. You get the same great treatment at any Chick-fil-a you go to.
Thank you!… “My pleasure!” Did you know they are required to say that? It’s different, but I like it and really sets the tone.
From the gluten free perspective, having a friendly face to talk through your dietary needs is HUGE! I feel very confident that the employees there take the order seriously and genuinely want to get the order correct.
