Chick-fil-a Sauce needs it’s own dedicated post. Here is the best Chick-fil-a Sauce recipe I could come up with based on my years of research at the Chick-fil-a labs, aka, their restaurants.
I’ll be honest I didn’t think it would be this simple. I’m the type of guy who keep all of our extra Chick-fil-a sauce packets securely stored in the refrigerator and highly protected!

Jack is my number one competitor in the house when it comes to Chick-fil-a sauce. I’ve got to keep my eye on him! He’ll put that sauce on just about anything.
With this Chick-fil-a sauce copycat recipe, we can now ease up on the sauce restrictions and monitoring in the house. It’s too easy not to keep on hand and when you run out, you can quickly save the day by making more in minutes!

Chick-fil-a Sauce Ingredients
Before we get into making our Chick-fil-a Sauce at home, we need to take a look at the basic ingredients. When you grab it from the restaurant here is what you will find:
- Soy Bean Oil
- Sugar
- BBQ Sauce
- Water
- Mustard
- Distilled Vinegar
- Egg Yolk
- Salt
- Cider Vinegar
- Lemon Juice Concentrate
- Mustard Flour
- Xantham Gum
- Natural Flavor (Not sure what that is…)
- Garlic (dehydrated)
- Calcium Disodium EDTA yo protect flavor

Benefits of Making Your Sauce at Home
Looking at the ingredients above, although it is not a long list, it is an interesting list. What are the “natural flavors” they add? This is not a knock on Chick-fil-a, but I have heard rumors that this is a way for companies to work around FDA requirements.
With that said, my first good reason to make chick fil a sauce at home is knowing what is in your sauce is very important, especially if you have Celiac Disease and are concerned with cross contamination. You get peace of mind using ingredients you know and trust.
The second good reason for making this chick fil a sauce recipe is the ability to keep the supply constantly in your refrigerator! You can now rest easy knowing the kids won’t hit your supply when you are not watching!

Chick fil a Sauce Recipe Considerations
Keep in mind the brands you use for mayo, BBQ sauce and other ingredients may very slightly. For example I’m a Duke’s Mayo kind guy. I like that twang! It tastes a little different than a traditional Hellman’s brand. I also used Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce.
Test out a few brands to see what you like the best. Let me know in the comments below what brands worked best for you. Let me know what didn’t work too!
