Other than gluten free pancakes, this gluten free french toast recipe is a weekend staple in our house. I’ve loved French toast ever since I was a child. It’s one of the first breakfast items I learned to cook. It’s something our family looks forward to every weekend!
Back when my mom made french toast she simply used egg. Aimee is the one who introduced me to adding vanilla and cinnamon… which takes this gluten free french toast experience to a whole new level.
Four simple ingredients is all you need to crush your gluten free weekend breakfast goals!
When it is all said and done, simply apply a small amount of butter and cover in your favorite syrup. We prefer 100% maple syrup. Look closely at the labels and avoid syrup that uses high fructose corn syrup or other artificial ingredients!
Choosing Gluten Free Bread
Chosing the right bread is a key factor when trying to make the best gluten free french toast. I personally enjoy Canyon Bakehouse bread. Their country white bread is always a good choice. I think as long as you stay away from a bread that is nutty or has seeds, you should be clear to choose your favorite gluten free bread.
The good news when it comes to gluten free bread is the density. Gluten free bread tends to be thicker and heartier. You won’t have to worry about it being too soggy or floppy like you may have to with traditional bread.

Give this Gluten Free French Toast a try!
Try this simple gluten free recipe and let me know what you think. I love cinnamon, so we go with a full teaspoon but you can always dial it back a little. Let’s make breakfast great again!
